1814 - Francis Scott Key completes "The Star Spangled Banner" in the early morning hours during the British attack of Fort McHenry and the courageous defense made by American forces.

 

1993 - Sixteen years after releasing his landmark album Bat Out Of Hell, Meat Loaf issues the sequel, Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell. The first single, "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)," tops the charts in many territories, including the US.
