1977 - Foreigner releases "Cold As Ice."

 

1980 - Billy Joel gets his first Gold record, for "It's Still Rock And Roll To Me."

 

1983 - The Police went to No. 1 on the US album chart with 'Synchronicity', their last album, which spent a total of seventeen weeks at No. 1.

 



1994 - The International Astronomical Union named an asteroid (ZappaFrank) in Mars’ orbit, after Frank Zappa, who had died the previous December.
