Karine Jean Pierre DID NOT want to answer any Durham questions.
The White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was blasted for abruptly ending a briefing and 'fleeing her podium' without comment when she was grilled about a recent report on how the FBI handled the Trump-Russia probe, which SHE supported.
When asked Tuesday about the White House's reaction to the special counsel report, Karine Jean-Pierre said it was a matter for the Department of Justice to speak on.
Jean-Pierre closed her briefing book and left the podium without further comment, which sparked outrage online as social media users accused her of ignoring her own history of pushing the Russia collusion allegation.
Special Counsel John Durham's 300-page report, which was released on Monday, found that the Department of Justice and FBI 'failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law' in regards to the investigation of possible collusion with Trump and Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.
A day after the report was released, RealClearNews reporter Philip Wegmann questioned the press secretary about reaction from the White House.
'What is the White House reaction to special counsel report on how the FBI handled the Trump-Russia probe?' Wegmann asked.
'I would leave it to the Department of Justice to speak to that,' Jean-Pierre responded.
Wegmann continued to push her for a comment: 'The president talks often about how he wants the DOJ and FBI to remain independent and above the fray. That report seems to reflect the opposite. Does he agree with Special Counsel Durham that there needs to be wholesale changes at the FBI?'
Jean-Pierre closed her briefing book and responded: 'Again, that is with the Department of Justice.'
'That's not something that I'm going to speak from the podium,' she continued. 'As you just stated in your question, we believe in an independent Department of Justice. That's what the president said when he was running and that's what the president has said the last two years.'
Jean-Pierre left her spot at the podium without taking any other questions, telling the reporters: 'Thank you so much. I'll see you guys in Japan.'
