Trump Admin Halts 5 Offshore Wind Turbine Projects

The Trump administration on Monday said it would pause leases for five wind farms under construction off the East Coast, essentially gutting the country’s nascent offshore wind industry in a sharp escalation of President Trump’s crusade against the renewable energy source.
The decision injected uncertainty into $25 billion worth of projects that were collectively expected to power more than 2.5 million homes and businesses across the Eastern United States, according to Turn Forward, an offshore wind advocacy group. The five wind farms were projected together to create about 10,000 jobs.
It left intact just two operational wind farms in U.S. coastal waters — one small project off Rhode Island that has been complete since 2016 and a larger project off New York that has been fully operational since 2023.
The five wind farms targeted on Monday had all obtained leases from the Biden administration. But citing unspecified national security concerns, the Trump administration said it would freeze those leases, effectively blocking construction or operations and jeopardizing billions of dollars that have already been invested.

I love the video of the turbines, which were not turning, meaning they provide no power.
Anyhow, every single one of these projects has lots people in those areas who were dead set against the projects, from fisherman to people who live there to people who are going to have to deal with the unreliable, undependable, and more expensive electricity. Turbines which can easily be damaged by enemies of the U.S. They don’t even have to totally destroy them to disable them. Seems like a weak excuse using “national security,”, though, if I’m being honest. Really, they should just let the projects go forward, and without federal money, let the residents in these Democrat voting states deal with the fallout.

Justice Department Ends Clinton Rule Giving Welfare To Migrants

The Department of Justice is closing a Democrat-created bureaucratic loophole that has allowed legal and illegal migrants to get a huge quantity of taxpayer aid since 1997, despite a 1996 law limiting aid to citizens.
The loophole was created by President Bill Clinton’s administration after Congress passed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA), which was intended to “strengthen… the principle that [legal and illegal] immigrants come to America to work, not to collect welfare benefits.”
“We now retract that [1997] opinion and offer the best reading of the phrase ‘Federal means-tested public benefit,'” President Donald Trump’s Justice Department said on December 16.
The new rule means that legal and illegal migrants will not be able to claim welfare, food stamps, housing, or healthcare subsidies, and many other aid programs. The aid cutoff will likely force more illegals — especially families — back home because many cannot earn enough money to afford housing, food, healthcare, and other expenses in the United States.
The reduced number of migrants will help raise Americans’ wages, reduce their rents, and encourage sidelined Americans to seek jobs.
“Trump DOJ Undoes Clinton Sabotage of the 1996 Welfare Reform Law,” declared the Center for Immigration Studies. “A quarter-century after PRWORA’s enactment — 52.5 percent of households headed by legal immigrants who had not naturalized… received welfare benefits, as compared to 35.9 percent for households headed by the native-born.”
The new rule will prompt lawsuits by pro-migration groups, but it will likely survive.
Members of President Donald Trump’s administration cheered the agency’s decision.

Congress passed the law barring migrants from welfare, but “federal bureaucrats immediately nullified those rules and spent the next three decades sabotaging them without resistance,” White House counselor Stephen Miller posted on X on December 20.
“The American People were betrayed for much longer, in far more ways, and with vastly more contempt for democracy, than most could imagine,” he added.

Biden Illegal Rams ICE Vehicles, Hits Officers, Shots Fired During Dangerous Pursuit In Minnesota

An illegal alien unleashed into the U.S. last year was arrested at the conclusion of violent chase that left federal agents injured and many vehicles damaged in Minnesota over the weekend.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released photographs and details about the harrowing chain of events that unfolded on Sunday in St. Paul.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tracked down Juan Carlos Rodrigues Romero during targeted enforcement in the capital city and stopped his SUV.
Officers identified themselves and ordered Romero to roll down his window, warning that they would be forced to break it after he refused.
Instead, Romero sped away, reportedly hitting one of the officers with his SUV.
During an ensuing pursuit, Romero struck several parked cars in a lot near his residence and then proceeded to ram an ICE vehicle.
Another officer was hit when Romero again fled in his SUV.
“The officer who was struck by Romero’s car defensively fired two rounds from his service weapon, causing Romero to drive off again. No one was struck by any of the defensive shots fired,” DHS stated.
“Romero then drove to the front door of his apartment complex, rammed another ICE vehicle, then got out of his car and attempted to flee into his apartment.”
Officers managed to bring Romero to the ground, but he continued to violently resist and reportedly bit another officer during the struggle.
He was eventually subdued, handcuffed, and taken into custody.
Two officers were treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
Romero entered the U.S. in 2024 via the Biden regime’s illegitimate CBP One app, which allowed more than a million unvetted, inadmissible illegal aliens into the country.
The Cuban remains in ICE custody at this time.
Illegal aliens and radical leftists become increasingly brazen in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
