The U.S. State Department is now telling all U.S. Citizens from 14 middle east countries to make immediate plans to exit the region. These are not travel advisories, these are specific instructions to leave the region.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Mora Namdar posted on the social media site X that Americans in countries, including Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel, should “DEPART NOW” using any available commercial transportation.
The guidance comes as many major airlines have canceled flights to and from the region as the war that began when U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday. It has since grown into a wider regional conflict, touching nearly every country nearby.
A “boxcar effect” is now taking place. As each day passes without airline flights available, more and more travelers are stuck in the region as their planned departure is cancelled. What might begin day #1 as several thousand people stranded, can quickly become several tens of thousands in a few days. The instructions to exit appear timed as an effort to avoid the numbers continuing to climb. However, without airlines operating departures become problematic.
I voted for no more wars.VERY disappointed.

Unfortunately, no matter who is president, there will never be no more wars Tom as long as we live on this planet.
DeleteBut this way, a muslim country will possibly be freed and there will be much less chance of a war of monumental proportions and possibly on our home land.
Apparently, the two strategic geniuses above haven't heard that Iran has been at war with US for the past 47 years. It's also apparent that they would rather we continue to allow Iran to kill Americans and our allies through the Islamic proxies, all the while getting closer to producing nuclear warheads. They've already shown their willingness to slaughter their OWN people by the tens of thousands in just a few weeks. I suppose we should have just left the status quo in place and waited until AFTER a nuke or two went off over a densely-populated city.
ReplyDeleteI deleted the retard comment. I truly believe he has terminal TDS and doesn't really like America either.
DeleteTom762 has been a very reasonable commentor. I know that everyone isn't going to be happy with Operation Epic Fury.
But B.C., you and I are in total agreement on clearing out that wretched hive of scum and villany. Iran would have sooner or later had nukes and been confident enough to attack America and I'm overjoyed that we have put a serious hurting on them. Let the people be free and live their lives. This won't last long.
BC, you can insult me if you wish, my point is that Isreal can fight its own damn war. If she can't win, too bad. As far as "47" years, your .gov has told you "weeks away from nukes" to the point it is now the boy who cried wolf.
DeleteFentanyl has killed more Americans than ever lost in all wars, yet we are not invading China to stop that. I cannot argue that your point is not valid, nor can you mine. Iran can go suck sack, just not my sack! I still support DJT, just not this. The middle east has issues that Uncle cannot solve. If you are going to bag on me for being critical of my .gov being at war for more than 90% of our existence, so be it. I was told that was going to stop. And it did not. Apart from a few years in the 90's, I have known nothing but conflict. I am tired, boss.
Israel wants to go after Turkey next. NATO Turkey. Parce that one out for me, brother.
If you can...

I also would prefer no more wars. But if there is to be a war, I wanted it to be non-nuclear; and I want it to be on my watch, not on my son's watch. I want it to be decisive.
ReplyDeleteThe world is not a perfect place. It never has been, and it never will be. With 20/20 hindsight and the comfort of Western norms, I can judge the Shah as having been overly brutal. But that judgement has to ignore that any Muslim country of any size is either at war with itself or ruled by a brutal dictator. The Shah, Saddam, Assad, the House of Saud, none of them rule(d) according to western standards. If anyone of them tried, they would have been overthrown by people like the Ayatollahs.
I know the Ayatollahs and the Bin Ladin want me and my family dead just because we exist. Anyone who claims that "if we'd just left them alone, they would have left us alone" is ignorant of history. For them, I suggest reading up on Jefferson and the Barbary pirates.
I don't like what Trump is doing, and I blame the world that Trump inherited. I'm pretty sure that I would like the world a lot less if Trump pulled a Biden, Obama, or Carter. So, yeah, I don't like it. But the alternative is worse.
I pretty much agree with everything you said.
DeleteI guess you said it best that the world situation created by others is sorta what dictated what Trump HAD to do to get things back into balance again.
And yes, if Biden or obongo had been forced to really deal with the Iran situation, it would have been disastrous for the US.
Karl, I agree with everything you said. I'm a GW1 vet and it stung like Hell when the pussified asshats in the Communist media bitched and moaned so much about the "Highway of Death" that the milquetoast Bush halted the war instead of wiping out Saddam's entire Republican Guard. The idiots who drew up the terms of the "No Fly Zones" should have been taken out and dropped into northern Iraq so that they could enjoy the tender ministrations of the Iraqi HELICOPTER GUNSHIPS that were left out of the prohibition. (Only fixed-wing aircraft were excluded.) I could write a book on the atrocities that were committed by Saddam's forces because our "leaders" were wobbly-kneed pussies who cared what the Left thought about them.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you had to see the things you had to have seen over there. I know several vets who went through that and while they came out relatively unaffected mentally, they can tell about some really mind-blowing scenarios.
DeleteThere were some really stupid policies that were initiated over there.
Thank YOU for your service sir. SALUTE.
LOL, just before I retired I was getting weekly emails on my LinkedIn account with job offers in several of those countries. Glad I never needed money bad enough to fly overseas to get it.
ReplyDeleteI am too, Don. No telling what you would be doing right now. Dodging missiles, perhaps.
