(My opinion is, if Thune takes this deal, it shows just what a petty ass RINO he is and Trump should do everything he can to have him replaced. We don’t need this kind of behind the scenes shit happening. The SAVE Act is too important to be playing political chess in OUR OWN DAMN PARTY. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is in a run-off with Senator John Cornyn for his Senate seat, has just offered a huge deal to Leader Thune if he’ll agree to end the filibuster and pass the SAVE Act.
Here’s what he wrote:
I don’t know if this is true, but apparently Leader Thune wants a deal from President Trump, where he endorses Cornyn in exchange for pushing the SAVE Act through via the talking filibuster, or maybe the nuclear option. I don’t know. Again, just a rumor. But Thune has been very outspoken in calling on Trump to give Cornyn his endorsement.
I mention this only because this could be what Paxton is hearing and why he’s offering to drop out of the race so that Cornyn can fight for it in the general.

DeleteI don't trust Cornyn at all and I don't trust Paxton much but the issue of my post was that Thune is allegedly being a bitch holding off the SAVE Act to get Trump to endorse who he wants.

The 'deal', as they are supposedly talking about, is that Thune gets the SAVE Act voted on and Paxton will withdraw from the Senate race. If Thune gets the SAVE Act up for a vote soon, he can't renege on Paxton.
You know the old saying, if voting made any difference at all, they wouldn't let us do it. I try not to be that cynical, but the so-called SAVE act bullshit that we're seeing totally reinforces that belief. Cheating occurs, the signs are clear, and no one seems to be serious about stopping it. And obviously the D's are far better at cheating, so the R's must really be comfortable in their minority status. Been watching politics since the 70's and the R's have never used their majority status to accomplish anything meaningful. Makes me sick.

DeleteThune should ahve his ass removed for holding up the SAVE Act. It won't stop the cheating but it will cut it down enough to where the areas of the country that are actually RED can elect RED representatives. We have so many RED areas of the country that have BLUE representatives solely because of cheating. California is a good example.
And YES, the Republicans are always weak. I want some Trump style Republicans. 'Run 'em over if they won't get out of the way' Republicans.
